Arina is a qualified town planner having obtained a Master’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Stellenbosch.  She has been with the company since 1996 and has added huge value and knowledge to the team.  Arina is highly skilled and more than capable of undertaking and managing complex applications.  Raising three beautiful children and two happy dachshunds with her husband,  she loves good food, spending time with her family and travelling whenever the opportunity arise.

Cherie studied a B.Sc Town and Regional Planning degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in the 90’s, after which she worked for the City of Cape Town for 6 years. Cherie has been working for the Tommy Brummer Team since 2005 and has 19 years’ experience in total. Her passion is camping in the wild, 4×4’ing and sitting behind her lens taking photos of wildlife.

My life story began when I was born on the banks of the Okavango River in Namibia, and I ended up living in that beautiful country for 30 years.  Done with school, I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1997 and, after a too-short stint overseas after leaving my student life behind, I went back to Namibia to work for the Windhoek City Council for over 5 years.  The years in Namibia was followed by working for the Cape Town City Council in this marvellous city we call home.  My four big passions in life are travel, history, art and music, and I always try to combine them in any travel plans.  My life is surrounded with a creaking 100-year old Victorian house, a two-legged partner and a four-legged, cocky little Jack Russel called George.

Quintus studied town planning at the University of Stellenbosch and has been working in the planning field since 1994. Other than private practice and the City of Cape Town, he also worked for the Table Mountain National Park where he gained experience in environmental and tourism planning. He joined the Tommy Brummer Team in 2006. Outside of the work environment Quint enjoys a game of squash and would spend much more time in the bushveld, if he could.

Hayley graduated from UCT in 2014 with a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning. Hayley is a determined and enthusiastic planner with experience in a wide variety of projects. She joined the firm in 2017 after spending valuable time working in the Northern suburbs. Hayley loves running, the outdoors and travelling with her gorgeous husband where they explore fascinating places around South Africa, sometimes with their cat.

Campbell

Marili joined the team in January 2022.  She was previously Financial Manager in Education and before then Operational and Financial Manager at an international non-profit organization, specializing in biodynamic farming.  She has a passion for the stories finance tell you and how one can improve on it.  Although Marili has no social filter, her family and friends are happy to share their  lives with her, as her language of love is cooking. She believes that no matter how fortunate you are, you need to live life in a way that there is always something to look forward to!

Marianne  is better known as Tweet. Originally from  Joburg she  settled in Cape Town soon after leaving school.  A stint at UCT and with great interests in mountaineering she worked with a wide range of consultants mainly in the geological and biological fields.  Jobs in Botswana and Mali with a focus on mapping of a wide variety of resources  prepared her for work in a town planning office.  She is our technical assistant and enjoys researching the history and development of our city assisting the planners to provide an accurate description of the built environment.

Georgina Julies joined the firm in March 2017 as a receptionist and office administrator.  Her roles include reception management, secretary to Tommy Brummer and assisting staff to ensure the smooth running of office administration.  Professionalism and a caring personality make Georgina a valuable member of our support team.  Georgina holds a secretarial certificate from Varsity College.
